There are around 8,000 and more poses in yoga and each pose brings different benefits to the body. For beginners, it is difficult for them to choose which poses are good for them, and like prescriptions, each person needs different type of poses base on their needs and also their body’s capabilities.

As a start for yoga practise, the Sun Salutation is recommended because it is a sequence that consists of 12 different poses that covers all the major benefits to one’s body. Doing a few rounds of sun salutation each day does not take alot of time and is best suited for those who have little time to exercise.
